Forwarding this, though it
may be a duplicate, as Becky has been informed, too, about the death of my
first cousin, Edward Knight, son of Ralph Knight.
I thought you might be
interested in a little story about him. He and my brother were in World War
II and at one time in nearby units. My brother (Bud) named Ralph Emery
Knight, went to see Edward, aka Ralph Edward Knight. At the gate Bud asked to
see Ralph E. Knight, and identified himself as Ralph E. Knight!!!!!It took a
bit of explaining to the officer the so-called mix-up.
Had a nice chat with Ron Ray
this afternoon. He said he thought Edward had been a general in the Army.
Best to all.

Just wanted to share the sad
news that my Uncle Ralph (Ralph Edward Knight) passed away this morning. He had been hospitalized for the past week
with BP and Heart rate problems, but they didn't really come up with a firm
diagnosis with what had happened. He's had diabetes for many years and that
makes things harder to pinpoint and manage.
No stroke, no new heart attack, just got weaker and weaker, and passed
away at 7 this morning just after Judy got to the hospital. He had a heart attack years ago, so this is
probably just the result of the congestive heart failure he's been
experiencing for a few years. Per his request there won't be any calling hours,
services or even an obituary, just a small death notice, but I'm sure Judy
would appreciate a card.
Her address is 322 Lake Ave.,
Salem, VA 24153-3232.
