Marcus owned and operated his own hotel. He died in the ambulance enroute to the hospital. Buried at

Woodlawn Cemetery, Radiant Path, Plot 764, Lot 2 in Everett, Massachusetts.

Marcus married Helen M. Souther ⁵  daughter of Ezekiel Souther and Catherine B. Ingraham in 1852 in Dorchester, Norfolk, Massachusetts. Helen was born⁶  on 15 Feb 1833 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. She died⁷  on 16 Mar 1868 in Winchendon, Worcester, Massachusetts. She was buried⁸  on 19 Mar 1868 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Middlesex, Massachusetts.
